Internship and thesis proposals
Space partitioning by microtubules and molecular motors

Domaines
Condensed matter
Biophysics
Soft matter
Physics of living systems

Type of internship
Expérimental et théorique
Description
The aim of the internship is to study how molecular motors and microtubules can self-organize to create shapes and partition space when confined in restricted volumes. We recently discovered this property and propose to study it further. Depending on students interest and experience, it is possible to study this in living cells, or in reconstituted minimal systems, or from the theoretical aspect of active phase separation (in collaboration with Jean-Francois Joanny).
