! Internship in a laboratory of mathematics !
How can quantum information be preserved in a system with thermal excitations? In certain fermionic chains, Majorana modes localized at the ends provide boundary degrees of freedom that can retain information for very long times. The internship will investigate the mathematical mechanisms underlying this dynamical stability at nonzero temperature, through the study of strong zero modes and their prethermal counterparts
