Description
The internship focuses on stochastic processes, more precisely on stochastic algorithms for the exploration of low dimensional spaces, with a view to optimizing the study of samples from cultural patrimony (archaeological artefacts, works of art, ...). Incorporating stochastic parts within exploration processes is common practice, be it to model natural or physical search phenomena or to design numerical methods of extrema approximation. We aim at designing stochastic algorithms for the analysis of patrimonial samples using Raman spectroscopy -- under the constraint of minimizing alteration risks and analysis costs. Thanks to a collaboration with an experimental team, we will also be able to test our algorithms on real samples.
